She knew I had something to do with the internet and employment so she asked me to stop by and take a look

Recently I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by a talented visionary by the name of Cathy Paper as a part of a fabulous workshop she’s created called “The Dream Job Lab“. In a nutshell, it shows people how to identify their goals, skills, and passion to find their dream job.

Part of my new recruiting role is to participate in job fairs as a way to attract and interview candidates to fill our openings across the US and Canada. It amazes me how people’s preparation or lack thereof makes them desirable or undesirable in the first 5 minutes of the interview.
All of the following examples are things I’ve witnessed in the past 6 weeks at job fairs I’ve participated

I was talking to a friend of mine recently and he mentioned how upset he was at himself because he had squandered a golden opportunity to land his dream job. He is employed by a good company, in a good job that pays him well and that he likes. Nevertheless, my friend had come across his potential ”dream job. It was the type of job he had told me he had long been looking for. The lead came from

For those of you who know and follow me, you know how preposterous I think this statement is. However, I can’t tell you how many people have this mind set when it comes to networking.
There are also those who believe that the only real reason to network is to set yourself up to find a new or better job.

As I read the following article on ERE.net 6 weeks back, I couldn’t help but wonder which side of the fence my fellow recruiters would find themselves on. Are you helping to strengthen your company brand, or helping to tear it down? Here is a link to the article that brought this on. “Recruiters, You Could be Killing Your Employer Brand”
