Part of my new recruiting role is to participate in job fairs as a way to attract and interview candidates to fill our openings across the US and Canada. It amazes me how people’s preparation or lack thereof makes them desirable or undesirable in the first 5 minutes of the interview.
All of the following examples are things I’ve witnessed in the past 6 weeks at job fairs I’ve participated
I was talking to a friend of mine recently and he mentioned how upset he was at himself because he had squandered a golden opportunity to land his dream job. He is employed by a good company, in a good job that pays him well and that he likes. Nevertheless, my friend had come across his potential ”dream job. It was the type of job he had told me he had long been looking for. The lead came from
